Privacy Policy
Overview
We believe legal research should be fast, secure, and free of commercial surveillance. This site has no user accounts, uses no third-party analytics or ad networks, and never sells or shares your personal information. We do keep first-party server-side analytics and logs that include your IP address, as described below.
Your Notes
Notes you create on statutory provisions are saved directly in your browser's local storage. They remain on your device and are never sent to our servers. You can export or import your notes as a JSON file at any time from the Notes page. Clearing your browser's site data will delete your notes.
Search & Navigation
Autocomplete: Quick suggestions (section numbers and titles) run entirely client-side using an index downloaded to your browser. Your keystrokes are never transmitted over the network while you type.
Full-text search: When you submit a full-text search (by pressing Enter), the search query is included in the URL and requested from our server to return matching results, exactly like requesting any other page.
Analytics & Server Logs
We run first-party analytics and server logs on our own infrastructure to understand traffic patterns (such as which titles are read most frequently), monitor site performance, and protect the site against abuse:
IP addresses: We record the full IP address of requests, along with the browser user-agent string, the pages requested, and timestamps. We may use IP data to derive coarse location (such as country or region), distinguish visitors, detect automated traffic, and investigate abuse.
Cookies: We may set a first-party cookie to group requests into a single visit for analytics. We do not use third-party or advertising cookies.
Referrers: We log standard HTTP referrer headers and campaign parameters if present on incoming links.
No third parties: All analytics and logs run on our own servers. No request data is shared with external analytics or advertising providers.
Retention: Analytics records and server logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
Email Updates
If you subscribe to updates on the About page, we will only use your email address to notify you about new statutory releases or major site features. We do not share email addresses with third parties. To unsubscribe, email [email protected] and we will remove your address promptly.
