# §592. Notice of establishment of standards; shipments under contracts made before adoption of standards


The [Secretary](/usc/7/599.md?p=2) shall give reasonable notice through one or more trade papers of the effective date of standards of export established or designated by him under this chapter: Provided, That any [grapes](/usc/7/599.md?p=4) or [plums](/usc/7/599.md?p=5) may be certified and shipped for export in fulfillment of any [contract](/usc/7/518.md?p=4) made within two months prior to the date of such shipment if the terms of such [contract](/usc/7/518.md?p=4) were in accordance with the grades and regulations of the [Secretary](/usc/7/599.md?p=2) in effect at the time the [contract](/usc/7/518.md?p=4) was made.
