# §2274a. Firearm authority of employees conducting field work in remote locations


On and after December 8, 2004, the Secretary of Agriculture is authorized to permit employees of the [United States](/usc/7/6402.md?p=8) Department of Agriculture to carry and use firearms for personal protection while conducting field work in remote locations in the performance of their official duties.
