# §1186. Memorandum of Understanding annex


Not later than 1 year after August 3, 2007, the [Secretary](/usc/6/1151.md?p=2) of [Transportation](/usc/6/1151.md?p=11) and the [Secretary](/usc/6/1151.md?p=2) shall execute and develop an annex to the Memorandum of Understanding between the two [departments](/usc/6/1151.md?p=3) signed on September 28, 2004, governing the specific roles, delineations of responsibilities, [resources](/usc/6/741.md?p=12), and commitments of the [Department](/usc/6/1151.md?p=3) of [Transportation](/usc/6/1151.md?p=11) and the [Department](/usc/6/1151.md?p=3) of [Homeland](/usc/6/126.md?p=g-1) Security, respectively, in addressing motor carrier [transportation](/usc/6/1151.md?p=11) security matters, including [over-the-road bus](/usc/6/1151.md?p=4) security matters, and shall cover the processes the [Departments](/usc/6/1151.md?p=3) will follow to promote communications, efficiency, and nonduplication of effort.
