# §411. Special provisions concerning the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

- (a) **Delegation.—** The Chairperson of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation may delegate the [authority](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-6) specified in the 2d sentence of [section 403(a) of this title](/usc/5/403.md?p=a) to the Vice Chairperson of the [Board](/usc/5/8401.md?p=5) of Directors of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, but may not delegate such [authority](/usc/5/7103.md?p=a-6) to any other officer or [employee](/usc/5/5361.md?p=1) of the Corporation.
- (b) **Personnel.—** Notwithstanding paragraphs (7) and (8) of [section 406(a) of this title](/usc/5/406.md?p=a), the [Inspector General](/usc/5/401.md?p=4) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation may select, appoint, and employ such officers and [employees](/usc/5/5361.md?p=1) as may be necessary for carrying out the functions, powers, and duties of the [Office](/usc/5/401.md?p=5) of [Inspector General](/usc/5/401.md?p=4) and may obtain the temporary or intermittent [services](/usc/5/8331.md?p=12) of experts or consultants or an organization of experts or consultants, subject to the applicable laws and regulations that govern such selections, appointments, and employment, and the obtaining of such [services](/usc/5/8331.md?p=12), within the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
