# §5908. Relationship to other laws


Nothing in this chapter affects—

- (1) [chapter 51](/usc/49/chstIII-ch51.md) (relating to [transportation](/usc/49/13907.md?p=e-2) of [hazardous material](/usc/49/5102.md?p=2)) or the regulations promulgated under that chapter; or
- (2) any [State](/usc/49/31132.md?p=8) highway weight or size law or regulation applicable to tractor-[trailer](/usc/49/5901.md?p=8) combinations.
