# §9702. Definitions


For purposes of this chapter—

- (1) the term “Secretary” means the Secretary of [Energy](/usc/42/6311.md?p=7);
- (2) the term “Government agency” means any department, agency, [commission](#3), or independent establishment in the executive branch of the Federal Government, or any [corporation](/usc/42/2296b–7.md?p=1), wholly or partly owned by the [United States](/usc/42/403.md?p=k), which is an instrumentality of the [United States](/usc/42/403.md?p=k), or any [board](/usc/42/10261.md?p=2), bureau, division, service, [office](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1), officer, authority, administration, or other establishment in the executive branch of the Federal Government;
- (3) the term “Commission” means the Nuclear Regulatory Commission; and
- (4) the term “[Advisory Committee](/usc/42/7703.md?p=9)” means the [Advisory Committee](/usc/42/7703.md?p=9) on Reactor Safeguards established by [section 2039 of this title](/usc/42/2039.md).
