# §6728. Wage standards for laborers and mechanics; enforcement


All laborers and mechanics employed by contractors on all [construction](/usc/42/7479.md?p=2-C) [projects](/usc/42/11360.md?p=20) funded in whole or in part by payments under this subchapter shall be paid wages at rates not less than those prevailing on similar [projects](/usc/42/11360.md?p=20) in the locality as determined by the [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) of Labor in accordance with sections 3141–3144, [3146](/usc/40/3146.md), and [3147](/usc/40/3147.md) of title 40. The [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) of Labor shall have, with respect to the labor [standards](/usc/42/1320d.md?p=7) specified in this section, the authority and functions set forth in Reorganization Plan Numbered 14 of 1950 and [section 3145 of title 40](/usc/40/3145.md).
