# §5507. Arrangements with Federal agencies for development and demonstration of solar heating and combined heating and cooling systems for commercial buildings


The [Administrator](/usc/42/5502.md?p=4), in consultation with the [Secretary](/usc/42/5502.md?p=5), the [Secretary](/usc/42/5502.md?p=5) of [Energy](/usc/42/6311.md?p=7), the [Administrator](/usc/42/5502.md?p=4) of General Services, and the [Director](/usc/42/5061.md?p=1) of the National Institute of [Standards](/usc/42/1320d.md?p=7) and Technology and concurrently with the conduct of the [programs](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) under sections [5503](/usc/42/5503.md) and [5504](/usc/42/5504.md) of this title, shall enter into arrangements with appropriate Federal agencies to carry out such [projects](/usc/42/11360.md?p=20) and activities (including [demonstration projects](/usc/42/16281.md?p=d-2)) with respect to apartment [buildings](/usc/42/6881.md?p=i-3), [office](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1) [buildings](/usc/42/6881.md?p=i-3), factories, crop-drying [facilities](/usc/42/11049.md?p=4) and other agricultural structures, public [buildings](/usc/42/6881.md?p=i-3) (including [schools](/usc/42/6372.md?p=1) and colleges), and other non-residential, commercial, or industrial [buildings](/usc/42/6881.md?p=i-3), taking into account the special needs of and individual differences in such [buildings](/usc/42/6881.md?p=i-3) based upon size, function, and other relevant factors, as may be appropriate for the early development and demonstration of [solar heating](/usc/42/5502.md?p=1) and [combined solar heating and cooling](/usc/42/5502.md?p=2) systems suitable and effective for use in such [buildings](/usc/42/6881.md?p=i-3).
