# §3535a. Working capital fund


There is hereby established in the [United States](/usc/42/403.md?p=k) Treasury, pursuant to [section 3535(f) of this title](/usc/42/3535.md?p=f), a working [capital fund](/usc/42/1437a.md?p=b-12) for the Department of [Housing](/usc/42/1490p–2.md?p=r-3) and Urban Development (referred to in this paragraph as the “[Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3)”): Provided, That amounts transferred to the [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3) under this heading shall be available for Federal shared services used by [offices](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1) and agencies of the Department, and for such portion of any [office](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1) or agency’s printing, records management, space renovation, furniture, or supply services as the [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) determines shall be derived from centralized sources made available by the Department to all [offices](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1) and agencies and funded through the [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3): Provided further, That of the amounts made available in this title[^1] for salaries and expenses under the headings “Executive [Offices](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1)”, “Administrative Support [Offices](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1)”, “[Program](/usc/42/274l–1.md?p=4) [Office](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1) Salaries and Expenses”, and “Government National Mortgage Association”, the [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) shall transfer to the [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3) such amounts, to remain available until expended, as are necessary to [fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3) services, specified in the first proviso, for which the appropriation would otherwise have been available, and may transfer not to exceed an additional $10,000,000, in aggregate, from all such appropriations, to be merged with the [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3) and to remain available until expended for use for any [office](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1) or agency: Provided further, That amounts in the [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3) shall be the only amounts available to each [office](/usc/42/3058f.md?p=1) or agency of the Department for the services, or portion of services, specified in the first proviso: Provided further, That with respect to the [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3), the authorities and conditions under this heading shall supplant the authorities and conditions provided under [section 3535(f) of this title](/usc/42/3535.md?p=f).
