# §1489. Transfer of excess funds out of Rural Housing Insurance Fund


Any sums in the Rural [Housing](/usc/42/1490p–2.md?p=r-3) Insurance [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3) which the [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) determines are in excess of amounts needed to meet the obligations and carry out the purposes of such [Fund](/usc/42/12854.md?p=3) shall be returned to miscellaneous receipts of the Treasury.
