# §13601. Compliance by owners as condition of Federal assistance


The [Secretary](/usc/42/242q–4.md?p=2) of [Housing](/usc/42/1490p–2.md?p=r-3) and Urban Development shall require [owners](/usc/42/13641.md?p=4) of [federally assisted housing](/usc/42/13641.md?p=2) (as such term is defined in [section 13641(2) of this title](/usc/42/13641.md?p=2)), as a condition of receiving [housing assistance](/usc/42/13641.md?p=3) for such [housing](/usc/42/1490p–2.md?p=r-3), to comply with the procedures and requirements established under this subchapter.
