# §2289. Urban and rural flood control frequency


In the preparation of [feasibility reports](/usc/33/2282d.md?p=i-2-A) for projects for flood damage prevention in urban and rural areas, the [Secretary](/usc/33/2201.md) may consider and evaluate measures to reduce or eliminate [damages](/usc/33/2701.md?p=5) from flooding without regard to frequency of flooding, drainage area, and amount of runoff. This section shall apply with respect to any project, or [separable element](/usc/33/426h–1.md?p=3) thereof, the Federal share of the cost of which is less than $3,000,000.
