# §3206. Discharge


A [person](/usc/28/3002.md?p=10) who pursuant to an execution [or](/usc/28/3003.md?p=a-2) order issued under this chapter by a [court](/usc/28/3002.md?p=2) pays [or](/usc/28/3003.md?p=a-2) delivers to the [United States](/usc/28/3002.md?p=15), a [United States marshal](/usc/28/3002.md?p=16), [or](/usc/28/3003.md?p=a-2) a receiver, money [or](/usc/28/3003.md?p=a-2) other personal [property](/usc/28/3002.md?p=12) in which a [judgment](/usc/28/3002.md?p=8) [debtor](/usc/28/3002.md?p=4) has [or](/usc/28/3003.md?p=a-2) will have an interest, [or](/usc/28/3003.md?p=a-2) so pays a [debt](/usc/28/3002.md?p=3) such [person](/usc/28/3002.md?p=10) owes the [judgment](/usc/28/3002.md?p=8) [debtor](/usc/28/3002.md?p=4), is discharged from such [debt](/usc/28/3002.md?p=3) to the [judgment](/usc/28/3002.md?p=8) [debtor](/usc/28/3002.md?p=4) to the extent of the payment [or](/usc/28/3003.md?p=a-2) delivery.
