# §62. Discontinuance and transfer of agencies


The President shall, whenever he may judge it expedient, discontinue any [Indian](/usc/25/1934.md) agency, or transfer the same, from the place or [tribe](/usc/25/3402.md?p=2-A) designated by law, to such other place or [tribe](/usc/25/3402.md?p=2-A) as the public service may require.
