# §4306. Report to Congress

- (a) **In general—** Not later than 1 year after November 7, 2000, and annually thereafter, the [Secretary](/usc/25/4302.md?p=9), in consultation with the [Director](/usc/25/4302.md?p=1), shall prepare and submit to the [Committee](/usc/25/5411.md?p=3) on [Indian](/usc/25/1934.md) Affairs of the Senate and the [Committee](/usc/25/5411.md?p=3) on Resources of the House of Representatives a report on the operation of the [Office](/usc/25/4001.md?p=4).
- (b) **Contents of report—** Each report prepared under [subsection (a)](#a) shall include—
  - (1) for the period covered by the report, a summary of the activities conducted by the [Secretary](/usc/25/4302.md?p=9), acting through the [Director](/usc/25/4302.md?p=1), in carrying out [sections 4303 through 4305](/usc/25/4303..4305.md) of this title; and
  - (2) any recommendations for legislation that the [Secretary](/usc/25/4302.md?p=9), in consultation with the [Director](/usc/25/4302.md?p=1), determines to be necessary to carry out [sections 4303 through 4305](/usc/25/4303..4305.md) of this title.
