# §6415. Programs and allocations of funds by United States missions abroad


It is the sense of the Congress that—

- (1) [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1) diplomatic missions in countries the [governments](/usc/22/6402.md?p=8) of which engage in or tolerate violations of the internationally recognized right to freedom of religion should develop, as part of annual [program](/usc/22/3383.md?p=6) planning, a strategy to promote respect for the internationally recognized right to freedom of religion; and
- (2) in allocating or recommending the allocation of [funds](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=9) or the recommendation of candidates for [programs](/usc/22/3383.md?p=6) and grants funded by the [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1) [Government](/usc/22/6402.md?p=8), [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1) diplomatic missions should give particular consideration to those [programs](/usc/22/3383.md?p=6) and candidates deemed to assist in the promotion of the right to religious freedom.
