# §6010. “United States person” defined


As used in this chapter, the term “United States person” means any [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1) citizen or alien admitted for permanent residence in the [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1), and any [corporation](/usc/22/7702.md?p=6), partnership, or other organization organized under the laws of the [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1).
