# §286n. Special Drawing Rights


The President is hereby authorized (a) to accept the amendment to the articles of [agreement](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=7) of the International Monetary [Fund](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=9) (hereinafter referred to as the “[Fund](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=9)”), attached to the April 1968 report by the [Executive Directors](/usc/22/10601.md?p=5) to the [Board](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=4) of Governors of the [Fund](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=9), for the purpose of (i) establishing a [facility](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=8) based on Special Drawing Rights in the [Fund](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=9) and (ii) giving effect to certain modifications in the present rules and practices of the [Fund](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=9), and (b) to participate in the special drawing account established by the amendment.
