# §2689. American Sections, International Joint Commission, United States and Canada; funds for representation expenses and official entertainment within the United States


Each fiscal year (beginning with fiscal year 1977), the Secretary of State may use [funds](/usc/22/2431a.md?p=9) appropriated for the American Sections, International Joint [Commission](/usc/22/277d–43.md?p=2), [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1) and Canada, for representation expenses and official entertainment within the [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1) for such American Sections.
