# §1478. Reimbursement of program expenses from sources other than appropriations; disposition of receipts


The [Secretary](/usc/22/1433.md?p=1) shall, when he finds it in the public interest, request and accept reimbursement from any cooperating governmental or private source in a [foreign country](/usc/22/2321c.md?p=2), or from State or local governmental institutions or private sources in the [United States](/usc/22/1395.md?p=a-1), for all or part of the expenses of any portion of the [program](/usc/22/3383.md?p=6) undertaken hereunder. The amounts so received shall be covered into the Treasury as miscellaneous receipts.
