# §976. Authorization of appropriations


There are hereby authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary (1) to enable the [Council](/usc/20/80r–1.md?p=2) to carry out its functions under this chapter, and (2) to pay claims certified pursuant to [section 975(b) of this title](/usc/20/975.md?p=b).
