# §80p. Funding

- (a) **Federal funds for Museum—** The faith of the United States is pledged that upon the completion of the acquisition in [section 80k of this title](/usc/20/80k.md), the United States will provide such [funds](/usc/20/4702.md?p=3) as may be necessary for the upkeep of the [Museum](/usc/20/80r–1.md?p=3) and the administrative expenses and costs of operation thereof, including the protection and care of works of art acquired by the [Board](/usc/20/4702.md?p=2), so the [Museum](/usc/20/80r–1.md?p=3) shall at all times be properly maintained and works of art contained therein shall be exhibited regularly to the general public free of charge.
- (b) **Authorization of appropriations—** There is authorized to be appropriated for the first fiscal year under this subchapter, the sum of $1,000,000 and such amounts as may be necessary for the succeeding fiscal years in order to carry out the provisions of this subchapter.
