# §3474. Conservation incentives landowner education program

- (a) **In general—** Not later than 1 year after March 12, 2019, the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) shall establish a [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) incentives landowner education [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1) (referred to in this section as the “[program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1)”).
- (b) **Purpose of program—** The [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1) shall provide information on Federal [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) [programs](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1) available to landowners interested in undertaking [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) actions on the land of the landowners, including options under each [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1) available to achieve the [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) goals of the [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1), such as—
  - (1) fee title land [acquisition](/usc/16/620e.md?p=1);
  - (2) donation; and
  - (3) perpetual and term [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) easements or agreements.
- (c) **Availability—** The [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) shall ensure that the information provided under the [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1) is made available to—
  - (1) interested landowners; and
  - (2) the public.
- (d) **Notification—** In any case in which the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) contacts a landowner directly about participation in a Federal [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1), the [Secretary](/usc/16/410r–5.md?p=c-1) shall, in writing—
  - (1) notify the landowner of the [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1); and
  - (2) make available information on the [conservation](/usc/16/6456.md?p=2) [program](/usc/16/460ss–6.md?p=1) options that may be available to the landowner.
