# §2567. Space and services: provision to WIC offices

- (a) **Allotment of Space and Provision of Services Authorized.—** Upon application by a WIC office, the Secretary of a military [department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) may allot space on a [military installation](/usc/10/183a.md?p=h-7) under the jurisdiction of the Secretary to the WIC office without charge for rent or [services](#b-1) if the Secretary determines that—
  - (1) the WIC office provides or will provide [services](#b-1) solely to [members](/usc/10/1408.md?p=a-5) of the [armed forces](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-4) assigned to the [installation](/usc/10/2920.md?p=h-5), civilian employees of the [Department](/usc/10/101.md?p=a-6) of Defense employed at the [installation](/usc/10/2920.md?p=h-5), or [dependents](/usc/10/987.md?p=i-2) of such [members](/usc/10/1408.md?p=a-5) or employees;
  - (2) space is available on the [installation](/usc/10/2920.md?p=h-5);
  - (3) operation of the WIC office will not hinder military mission requirements; and
  - (4) the security situation at the [installation](/usc/10/2920.md?p=h-5) permits the presence of a non-Federal entity on the [installation](/usc/10/2920.md?p=h-5).
- (b) **Definitions.—** In this section:
  - (1) The term “services” [includes](/usc/10/101.md?p=g-4) the provision of lighting, heating, cooling, and electricity.
  - (2) The term “WIC office” means a local [agency](/usc/10/4701.md?p=g-1) (as defined in subsection (b)(6) of section 17 of the [Child](/usc/10/1482.md?p=e-5-B) Nutrition Act of 1966 ([42 U.S.C. 1786](/usc/42/1786.md))) that participates in the special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children under such section.
